The Infinite and Absolute Bible

For the right-perimeter of the Rare Book Room Marsico asked his son, Jakob Marsico, a recent religious studies graduate to address the political misuse of religion.  The Infinite and Absolute Bible functions as a guidebook to common misinterpreted biblical readings.  It was letterpress printed using invisible ink

(visible only in the Rare Book Room under UV lighting) and fits into the cover of a mid 19th century family bible.  The misinterpreted biblical readings are  referenced in the The Infinite and Absolute Bible are highlighted with the same invisible ink.

The Infinite and Absolute Bible was published as part of the exhibit Messages and Communications at the Mattress Factory Museum in Pittsburgh. Book Artist Dennis Marsico asked his son, a recent religious studies graduate to address the political misuse of religion. The text was set in Caslon and transferred onto polymer plates by Boxcar Press. The book was letterpress printed on Somerset Book using a Vandercook proofing press. Dionysus Press printed and bound the edition of 50 in September 2005.
